Who sees your emails?

Gmail API (Google) Your emails are fetched directly from Gmail using your own Google account. Google already holds your emails — MailChief simply reads them back on your behalf using OAuth, the same secure login standard used by apps like Zoom and Slack.

Gemini 2.5 Pro (Google) Your email content — sender, subject, and a preview of the body — is sent to Google's Gemini AI to generate your spoken summary. This is the only AI that reads your emails. It is made by Google, the same company that runs Gmail.

Gemini TTS (Google) The finished text summary is converted to audio. Only the summary is sent here — not your original emails.

What MailChief stores We store your audio brief and its text transcript in a private database so you can replay it. Your raw emails are never saved — they pass through memory only and are discarded immediately after your brief is generated.
