MailChief ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have.
1. What we collect
When you sign in with Google, we collect:
Your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account
Read-only access to your Gmail inbox to generate your daily audio brief
Your WhatsApp number, if you choose to provide it for brief delivery
2. How we use your data
Gmail data: We read your emails solely to generate a spoken summary brief. We do not store, index, share, or sell your email content. Email data is processed in memory and discarded after the brief is generated.
Account information: Your name, email, and profile picture are used to identify your account and personalise the app.
WhatsApp number: Used only to deliver your audio brief via WhatsApp. We do not use it for marketing.
3. What we do not do
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes
We do not read, store, or process your emails for any purpose other than generating your brief
We do not send emails on your behalf
4. Third-party services
MailChief uses the following third-party services to operate:
Google OAuth 2.0 — for authentication and Gmail read access
Google Gemini API — for AI-generated brief summaries and text-to-speech audio
Twilio — for WhatsApp message delivery
DigitalOcean — for hosting and file storage
Each of these services operates under their own privacy policies.
5. Data retention
We retain your account information and the most recent generated brief for as long as your account is active. Email content is never stored. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time.
